As soon as those words left his mouth, Jun Qianyue, her hands clasped behind her back, said nothing, walking silently toward Ning Ye and Su Su.

Step! Step! Step! Step!

Her steps echoed with a chilling finality, as if the footsteps of the grim reaper had arrived.

In an instant, a dense shadow of death enveloped Ning Ye and Su Su. The cold, merciless killing intent swept over them like the fiercest blizzards atop a snowy mountain, causing their faces to ache with cold.

“Dad!”

“Run!”

Su Su’s face turned as pale as death, her voice trembling as she stared at Jun Qianyue, who was slowly advancing toward them. She had never felt this way before, as if she were gazing into an unfathomable abyss, her very soul trembling. Yet, despite the fear freezing her body, she gritted her teeth and stood firmly before Ning Ye, determined to protect him.

At that moment, Jun Qianyue came to a stop before Su Su. Gently, she placed a hand on Su Su’s cheek, her red lips curving in a playful smirk.

“A girl from the Ghost Spirit Clan.”

“Your future self is truly beautiful.”

“Especially your eyes.”

“They almost match mine now!”

“You!”

Su Su stared at Jun Qianyue in shock, her body trembling uncontrollably from the overwhelming pressure. She didn’t understand the strange words Jun Qianyue was speaking, but she could feel her strength being frozen, rendered powerless before the woman.

“So you guessed right.”

“Su Su’s identity couldn’t be hidden from you.”

Ning Ye shook his head, once again marveling at the terrifying power of the Heavenly Eye. He then decided to take a bold step forward, pulling Su Su behind him and locking eyes with Jun Qianyue.

“You won’t kill me.”

“Oh?”

Jun Qianyue responded with a hint of mockery, her tone laced with sarcasm.

“Why not?”

“Is it because you’re the master of the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade?”

“Or because you possess that famous Buddha Lotus Flame that echoes throughout the Nine Heavens?”

“Or… because you’re ranked first in the Eastern Wilderness Heavenly Hero Ranking?”

“Wait… could it be because of that marriage contract with me?”

“You can’t really be that naïve, right?”

“No,” Ning Ye shook his head, speaking firmly.

“It’s because from the very beginning, you never intended to kill me.”

“If you wanted to, you wouldn’t have had your 3,000 soldiers protect Su Su and me all the way to Wudu.”

Hehe.

Jun Qianyue chuckled softly at that, her amusement clear.

“Perhaps I’m just curious about you.”

“Perhaps.”

Ning Ye nodded, his tone steady as he continued.

“But I suspect, Jun Er, that you’re not just curious about me.”

“Your plan from the beginning was to use me as bait.”

Hearing that, Jun Qianyue didn’t respond immediately. She stood silently, her expression unreadable, waiting to hear what Ning Ye had to say next.

Ning Ye took a deep breath and continued, carefully laying out his reasoning.

“Today’s Wudu…In the daylight, it belongs to the Empress.”

“In the night, it’s under your control.”

“Your and her powers are evenly matched.”

“But all it takes is one opportunity to break that balance.”

“From the start, your plan was to use me as bait.”

“You figured that if I came to Wudu, the Empress wouldn’t be able to resist. She’d move first, targeting me, forcing you to respond. By that time, you’d already have your full plan in motion.”

“Though I still don’t know your exact plan, whatever comes afterward can’t possibly be good for the Empress.”

“Am I right, Jun Er?”

Ning Ye had been guessing Jun Qianyue’s motives ever since the 3,000 Divine Strategy Iron Cavalry arrived at Tianmen Pass. However, he had been unsure of the specifics. It wasn’t until they made their way to Wudu that his suspicions began to crystalize.

Jun Qianyue was silent for a moment before finally nodding approvingly.

“Your Highness, the Tenth Prince, truly has a sharp mind.”

“So, will you be my bait?”

“No,”

Ning Ye didn’t hesitate to refuse, his tone resolute. After all, he knew this woman all too well—bait was disposable, and once used, was discarded. He wasn’t that foolish.

Hearing those three words, Jun Qianyue didn’t show any emotional response, as if she had already guessed. With a dismissive snort, she said coldly, “Hmph! In that case, what’s the benefit of keeping you…?”

Ning Ye took a deep breath and calmly responded to Jun Qianyue’s question.

“Cooperation!”

“You and I will cooperate!”

“You help me unseal the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade’s seal.”

“And I’ll help you unseal the Heavenly Eye’s seal.”

“How about that?”

Hearing this, Jun Qianyue paused for a moment, her brow furrowed as she asked with suspicion, “Oh? You know how to unseal the Heavenly Eye?”

Ning Ye nodded, “Of course, I do.”

Jun Qianyue narrowed her eyes, skeptical. The seal on the Heavenly Eye was a mystery even to her—how could Ning Ye know? However, she paused and reconsidered. Ning Ye had countless secrets, some known, others not. Maybe he did have the knowledge to unseal the Heavenly Eye. After all, she had suffered the loss of her sight for seven long years, and she was done with living in darkness.

“Crimson Blood Dragon Soul.”

Ning Ye didn’t hide the answer from Jun Qianyue.

The key to unsealing the Heavenly Eye was detailed in the ancient texts as Crimson Blood Dragon Soul.

The Crimson Blood Heavenly Dragon was the sacred guardian beast of the empire, the foundation upon which the empire rested!

According to the original plotline of the Nine Heavens, Jun Qianyue would, at most, reclaim the empire within three years. By then, she would undoubtedly slay the Crimson Blood Heavenly Dragon, refine its soul, and unseal the Heavenly Eye, restoring her sight…

But the key point was, Jun Qianyue didn’t know that yet.

The sealed Heavenly Eye could see fragments of the future but not its own. Ning Ye was using this information gap as leverage, making a deal with Jun Qianyue.

With those words, Jun Qianyue raised an eyebrow, a faint, amused smile playing on her lips.

“Ning Ye, Ning Ye.”

“You have given me another reason to overthrow the emperor!”

“So, I assume you now understand what it means to cooperate with me, don’t you?”

Ning Ye nodded.

Unsealing the Heavenly Eye meant overthrowing the imperial power. He was fully aware of that.

He also believed that Jun Qianyue understood the same—that by cooperating with him, she could drastically shorten the time to overthrow the empire.

That was his confidence!

Jun Qianyue fell silent for a long while. Ning Ye waited patiently, every passing second feeling like an eternity. If Jun Qianyue agreed to cooperate, then everything would be fine. If not, he’d have to come up with another plan to escape.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Jun Qianyue seemed to make a decision. She spoke slowly,

“The Imperial Palace.”

“The Scroll Hall’s Forbidden Ninth Layer.”

“A drop of Crimson Dragon’s blood.”

“Pleasure working with you!”

With those words, Jun Qianyue extended her fair hand toward Ning Ye.

Seeing this, Ning Ye finally exhaled, his heart easing. He stepped forward and grasped Jun Qianyue’s hand, giving a firm response.

“Pleasure working with you!”

Her hand was cold, like a cherry blossom wine.

Ning Ye gently withdrew after a simple handshake.

Now that Jun Qianyue had revealed how to unseal the second seal of the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade, it meant she was sincere in cooperating. This was a significant step toward their shared goal.

“Since we’re cooperating…”

“Then, Jun Er, why not tell me what our next move is?”

Ning Ye asked, his curiosity piqued.

Jun Qianyue simply replied with one word, “Wait.”

“Wait for what?”

Ning Ye didn’t quite understand.

Hehe.

Jun Qianyue smiled faintly, her lips curving upward.

“Wait for her to come looking for you.”

With that, Jun Qianyue stretched lazily, then moved gracefully, walking past Ning Ye and Su Su and leaving the Divine Strategy Tower. The only sound that lingered behind was her parting words:

“Ning Ye!”

“From now on, you’ll live in the western courtyard beside my chambers.”

“It’s quiet there, perfect for you both.”

“Get some rest early.”

Once Jun Qianyue left the Divine Strategy Tower, Su Su finally relaxed. Her legs gave way, and she plopped down onto the ground. Her back was drenched in cold sweat, and she had a strange sensation of having narrowly escaped a life-threatening ordeal.

“Dad!”

“You’re not seriously going to marry that woman, are you?”

“She… she’s so terrifying!”

Su Su, sprawled on the ground, looked up at Ning Ye with wide, fearful eyes, her voice trembling. Clearly, the little girl’s fear and dread toward Jun Qianyue had reached their peak.

“Who knows?”

Ning Ye crouched down, gently running his fingers through Su Su’s soft, silver hair, shaking his head with a sigh.

Meeting Jun Qianyue today had been overwhelming. Her oppressive aura and mysterious strength left him feeling dwarfed. More importantly, her cultivation strength was utterly unfathomable.

If Ning Ye recalled correctly, in this timeframe, Jun Qianyue could take down experts at the Legend Realm like slaughtering chickens or dogs, effortlessly.

The thought of dealing with such a formidable woman made even Ning Ye’s head spin.

“Forget it. One step at a time.”

He sighed, his shoulders feeling heavier than before. Carrying Su Su, who had grown too weak to walk, Ning Ye slowly descended the Divine Strategy Tower.

Today had been difficult, but they had achieved their goal.

The ultimate villain, Jun Qianyue, had indeed become his ally!
