“Unique flame?”

Before reaching the altar, Ning Ye looked at the flames burning at its center and shook his head.

He had initially thought they would be unique fire, but in reality, the energy within was far inferior to that of unique fire. Most likely, this was just beast fire. If that’s the case, he lost interest.

“I should focus on unlocking the second seal of the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade first.”

Ning Ye’s attention turned to the jade bottle floating at one corner of the altar, which held the red liquid—his cherished Crimson Dragon Blood.

Huff!

Taking a deep breath, Ning Ye grasped the jade bottle. A surge of intense heat spread through his entire body, even though the bottle kept the liquid contained. He could still feel the immense power contained within the Crimson Dragon Blood.

“Let’s begin.”

With that thought, a faint glint flickered in Ning Ye’s eyes as he shattered the jade bottle with a swift motion.

Crack!

The bottle shattered. In an instant, the temperature in the ancient hall soared, and the scorching heat filled the air. The Crimson Dragon Blood trembled violently, almost as if it had come alive. Ning Ye felt as though he were transported to ancient times, hearing the echoes of ancient dragons’ roars and howls.

“No wonder it’s the blood of the Crimson Dragon.”

“I don’t know how many years have passed, yet it still retains such spirit.”

Ning Ye muttered to himself before slowly opening his palm.

Ting!

In his hand, an ancient weapon appeared—a blood moon engraved on its blade.

Interestingly, as the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade manifested, the raging Crimson Dragon Blood calmed down, as if in fear of this blade.

Noticing this detail, Ning Ye’s lips curled slightly. He was eager to see what kind of surprise the second seal of the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade would bring.

Without hesitation, he dripped the Crimson Dragon Blood onto the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade. As the blood slid down the blade and disappeared into it, a terrifying wave of killing intent swept through the hall.

Boom!

At that moment, a symbol appeared on the blade—the image of an altar, with a humanoid figure standing atop it, seemingly ready to ascend into the heavens.

At the same time, system notifications rang in Ning Ye’s ears:

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for unsealing the second seal of the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade.]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for activating the Heaven-Defying Seven Demon Blades—Chrono Moon.]

[Sealed Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade: The heavens cannot bury it, the earth cannot overturn it. This is the first Heavenly Blade of the Nine Heavens, peerless through the ages. When slaying cultivators, it absorbs 20% of their lifespan and cultivation.]

[System notification: The lifespan and cultivation base obtained by the host will increase as the seals are lifted.]

[Star Execution: The first blade of the Heaven-Defying Seven Demon Blades. By infusing lifespan, it unleashes an unparalleled slash capable of severing stars and shattering moons.]

[Each slash requires the infusion of ten years of lifespan.]

[Chrono Moon: The second blade of the Heaven-Defying Seven Demon Blades. By infusing lifespan, it unleashes an unparalleled slash capable of severing time and shattering space.]

[Each slash requires the infusion of thirty years of lifespan.]

Hearing the system notifications, Ning Ye felt an overwhelming sense of ease.

The second seal was broken. From now on, whenever he killed cultivators using the Reversal Moon Heavenly Blade, he can obtain 20% of their lifespan and cultivation base—a massive boost indeed!

Moreover, the second blade of the Seven Demon Blades—Chrono Moon—required thirty years of lifespan to unleash, but its power to sever time and space was terrifying. With this blade, even encountering a Divine Sacred cultivator might be survivable!

With that thought, Ning Ye couldn’t suppress his smile.

“Time is running out.”

“Next, I should secure the spoils and leave.”

Ning Ye suppressed his excitement and shifted his attention to the other two divine artifacts on the altar.

“The dragon slaying bow is what Jun Qianyue requested.”

“As for the dragon scale armor… that’s mine!”

Without hesitation, Ning Ye stored the dragon slaying bow and dragon scale armor into his spatial ring. As he prepared to leave, a cold, solemn voice suddenly echoed from outside the hall.

“Who are you?”

“Daring to trespass into my royal family’s Scroll Hall’s Forbidden Grounds!”

Hearing that familiar voice, a glint of killing intent flashed in Ning Ye’s eyes.

“Third Prince, Wu You?”

“How could he be here?”

“If that’s the case… I can’t let him live!”

Ning Ye shook his head. Though he knew it wasn’t the right time to completely sever ties with the Imperial Family, if Wu You saw him now, his entire plan would be ruined. Thus, Ning Ye didn’t mind silencing him completely.

Just as his thoughts were turning, three figures appeared in the ancient hall.

“Third Prince Wu You.”

“Princess Consort, Nian Nujiao.”

“And… a Divine Realm expert?!”

Ning Ye’s gaze swept over Wu You and his wife, finally settling on the old man standing behind them, dressed in plain clothes, with silvery hair. Ning Ye could sense the divine aura emanating from him.

“Ning Ye!”

“It’s you!”

Wu You looked at Ning Ye in shock. Clearly, even he was surprised the person who had broken into the Scroll Hall tonight was Ning Ye.

“Slaying my Xie sect cultivators!”

“Breaking into the Imperial Family’s Forbidden Grounds!”

“Ning Ye, you have such audacity!”

Nian Nujiao crossed her arms and stared at Ning Ye with a mix of mockery and amazement. Up until tonight, she had been racking her brain, wondering how to take revenge on Ning Ye. Little did she expect him to deliver himself to her doorstep. This was a perfect opportunity for revenge.

“Do you two really want me dead?”

Ning Ye chuckled lightly, casting a glance at Wu You and Nian Nujiao before asking calmly.

“Today, you’ll die!”

A cold smirk appeared on Wu You’s lips.

“Undoubtedly!”

Nian Nujiao added through gritted teeth. “Even a god can’t save you!”

“Then let’s see you try.”

Ning Ye shook his head, his gaze fixed on the old man in plain robes standing behind the two of them. He was certain this old man wasn’t among the top ten generals of the Imperial Family, but his cultivation clearly indicated he was in the Divine Sacred Realm. Clearly, he was a hidden powerhouse from within the palace.

However, Ning Ye didn’t believe this was a hopeless situation. With the seal lifted and the second technique of Seven Demon Blades—Chrono Moon—unleashed, even a Divine Sacred expert might not be able to stop him.

“Hmph!”

“You won’t cry until you see the coffin!”

Wu You sneered.

“Old Ye!”

“I’ll leave this traitor to you!”

Wu You gave a solemn nod to the plain-robed elder behind him.

Hearing that, the elder remained silent and slowly lifted his head. His hollow, emotionless eyes stared at Ning Ye, filled with the terrifying, oppressive aura of a Divine Sacred expert, locking onto Ning Ye.

In that moment, the atmosphere in the ancient hall became tense and oppressive, as if a fierce battle was about to erupt.

Just as things seemed poised to explode, a gentle breeze, seemingly coming from nowhere, blew through the hall, causing the beast fire on the altar to sway violently. A playful, amused chuckle echoed through the ancient hall.

“Hahaha!”

“The Scroll Hall truly is lively tonight!”

As the laughter faded, a slender figure appeared, walking slowly into the ancient hall of the Forbidden Grounds.

The glow of the eternal lamps illuminated her cold and stunningly beautiful features, making her appear otherworldly and ethereal. Her deep black silk blindfold added an air of mystery to her presence.

The newcomer was none other than the Second Miss of the Jun Family, Jun Qianyue!
