After seeing that Yu Miaojin had completely lost her senses, Gu Junqing quickly scooped her into his arms.

He then left the chairman’s office, intending to have his subordinates handle the remaining matters. He would not let Chairman Gao off easily.

After his departure, only the devastated office remained—books, chairs, and desks lay toppled across the floor.

Along with Chairman Gao, who lay on the ground barely breathing.

He had been beaten unconscious.

This showed just how intense Gu Junqing’s rage had been.

It had nearly caused the usually meticulous Gu Junqing to make a major mistake, so he naturally intended to take proper revenge on Chairman Gao to vent his fury.

Yu Miaojin, who had lost all reason, was visibly distressed, continuously calling out Gu Junqing’s name.

After being picked up by him, she squirmed uncomfortably.

This only heightened Gu Junqing’s already simmering agitation.

Carrying Yu Miaojin, he rushed to the car and immediately ordered his subordinate to drive to the nearest hospital.

In his mind, Gu Junqing kept chanting, “Amitabha, Amitabha,” not wanting to do anything that might harm Yu Miaojin.

But clearly, Yu Miaojin had no idea he was restraining himself to avoid hurting her.

Truthfully, he didn’t want to do anything in the car, fearing that if Yu Miaojin woke up, she might be angry with him.

He wondered what substance Chairman Gao had used—its effects were frighteningly strong…

Gu Junqing even briefly considered asking for some of it once this matter was over.

Meanwhile, a moral scale in his heart teetered between being a beast and being worse than a beast.

If Lin Tian knew things would unfold this way, he would surely be filled with regret.

Given another chance, even if Gu Junqing mocked him to death, he would never have left campus for even a second.

But unfortunately, heaven would not grant him that opportunity.

Gu Junqing had successfully intercepted the situation, depriving Lin Tian of this chance to grow closer to Yu Miaojin.

And from then on, Lin Tian would never have another opportunity.

Gu Junqing instructed his subordinate to drive to a secluded location and ordered them to stand guard around the area, allowing no one to approach.

“Teacher Yu… don’t blame me for lacking restraint—it’s just that you’re too captivating,” Gu Junqing murmured as he laid Yu Miaojin on the back seat.

The most alluring part was her slightly parted crimson lips.

Gu Junqing thought they looked unbearably soft—soft enough to make a person weak at a single breath.

Since even chanting “Amitabha” and “form is emptiness, emptiness is form” failed to calm him, he could only follow the Buddha’s example of sacrificing himself to feed the eagle.

Teacher, I hope you won’t blame me when you wake up.

With that, he pounced.

…………………… (omitting ten thousand words)

Time slipped quietly by.

The same two burly men in black who had captured Liu Yang—one called Baldy, the other Qi Jue—stood guard around the vehicle, ensuring no one approached.

Out of boredom, they chatted idly.

“Have you noticed how the young master has changed recently?” Baldy whispered to Qi Jue.

“Yeah, he seems much more handsome. I almost feel like I’m falling for him,” Qi Jue said, stars practically shining in his eyes.

Baldy shivered and edged away.

“What’s wrong with you? I’m joking,” Qi Jue grumbled.

“I’m not joking. The young master really has changed a lot. Before, he had us investigate that campus belle Murong Wan nonstop, but now he barely seems interested. And he feels much smarter now—everything he does looks confident and calculated.”

“Before, he wasn’t much different from an ordinary rich second-generation heir, aside from his excellent grades. Now even his temperament has changed. It feels like he holds all the cards and never makes mistakes,” Baldy said seriously.

“Hearing you say that, it really does seem true. But it’s a good change. Haven’t you noticed how satisfied Master Gu has been lately? He told us to follow Young Master properly. After all, Young Master will eventually inherit everything. We just need to watch him grow,” Qi Jue replied.

“Yes, we’ve followed Young Master since he was little. Now he’s grown up and even knows how to pursue women… I feel strangely proud,” Baldy sighed.

“Hehe, but hasn’t Young Master been at it for too long this time? It’s already been an hour!”

Qi Jue glanced at the still-shaking car and checked his watch.

Baldy leaned closer and whispered, “Qi Jue, I feel like this car is about to fall apart.”

Qi Jue looked slightly worried.

Not about the car’s cost—the Gu Family certainly didn’t lack money.

He was worried about the Young Master’s safety.

After all, there were plenty of news stories about people collapsing from overexertion…

“But I heard that woman was drugged by that chairman. What happened to him?” Baldy asked quietly.

“That chairman? Young Master flew into a rage and called the butler. Even Boss Gu was alarmed. Daring to touch Young Master’s woman… at best, he’s been sent to work in the mines. Either way, he won’t appear again,” Qi Jue said coldly.

The two continued chatting intermittently.

………………

In the distance, Lin Tian was still thinking about how to make a large sum of money through legitimate means while eating the meal his sister had cooked after returning home from school.

He ate without concern, having just been mocked by Gu Junqing again, which worsened his mood and deepened his jealousy and hatred.

He didn’t even consider that his sister, Lin Qingzhu, had already gone back out to work.

Lin Qingzhu would return home immediately after class to check whether her brother had come back. If he had, she would cook for him—but after cooking, she had no time to eat herself before leaving again to earn money for his living expenses and tuition.

Fortunately, she had excellent grades and occasionally received scholarships. Combined with her beauty, she was extremely popular at work. Every time she worked, customers flooded in just to see the famous “Xi Shi” waitress.

But she was willing to endure it.

Her brother was her only remaining family. As long as he was well, she was well—truly a case of “If you are well, it is a sunny day.”

Yet her devotion only earned her brother’s inappropriate thoughts. Lin Tian’s mind was filled with impure ideas.

If only Lin Qingzhu weren’t his sister…

Of course, he still retained some moral restraint and had taken no real action. Besides, his Golden Eyes could not yet see through clothing.

While eating, Lin Tian suddenly felt as though he had lost something.

His breathing grew heavier, as if something pressed down on his head, making it difficult to breathe.

If Gu Junqing were present and used his Insight Eye, he might see Lin Tian’s Luck transformed into a green hat, while a Luck figure resembling Gu Junqing repeatedly placed that green hat upon his head.

………………

On the other side, after what felt like an eternity, Gu Junqing finally ended this battle.

He felt a trace of tenderness toward Yu Miaojin, who had suffered an undeserved calamity.

Of course, he did not regret it—in fact, things had turned out even better, allowing him to directly seize Lin Tian’s Luck.

After all, Yu Miaojin was a female lead. Taking her away dealt a heavy blow to Lin Tian’s Luck. Previously, Murong Wan merely quarreling with Lin Tian had already reduced his Luck considerably.

At that moment, Yu Miaojin slowly woke up and looked at Gu Junqing in a daze.

She still didn’t fully understand what had happened.

A moment later, memories flooded back.

She closed her eyes, feeling as though she had completely lost face in society.

She clearly remembered that this time… she had been the one to take the initiative.

Covering her face with both hands, she felt too ashamed to face anyone.

Gu Junqing gently lowered her hands and looked into her eyes.

“This time, it wasn’t your fault, nor mine. It was all because of Chairman Gao Yi,” Gu Junqing comforted her softly.

“Alright… it’s over now. Everything has passed.”

“Ah, what am I supposed to do with you, you little troublemaker?”

Yu Miaojin fell silent and gently buried her head in Gu Junqing’s embrace.

The atmosphere gradually softened into warmth and tenderness.

Outside the car, Baldy and Qi Jue noticed the vehicle had finally gone still, signaling that the battle was over, though they still didn’t dare approach.

Baldy whispered, “Thank goodness it’s over. I was seriously worried the young master might die in there after going that long…”

Qi Jue leaned closer and added, “Honestly… I was thinking the same thing.”
