While Gu Junqing and Yu Miaojin were discussing important matters in the office, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

“Teacher Yu, are you there?”

The person outside spoke. It turned out to be Lin Tian.

“What do you need?”

Yu Miaojin’s voice remained as melodious and gentle as ever.

Gu Junqing signaled to Yu Miaojin that she could let Lin Tian in.

When Lin Tian entered and saw Gu Junqing there, his eyes turned fierce as he glared at him.

Gu Junqing raised an eyebrow but paid him no mind.

He had arrived early, waiting for Lin Tian to confirm whether the final part of his plan was about to unfold.

Lin Tian’s downfall was imminent.

The Luck surrounding Lin Tian had been gradually drained by Gu Junqing, who had been relentlessly “shearing the sheep.”

But Gu Junqing couldn’t keep shearing the same sheep forever, so he planned to deal with Lin Tian quickly and move on to the next target.

Earlier, Gu Junqing had discussed with Yu Miaojin that Lin Tian would come to see her and request permission for something.

Gu Junqing was somewhat concerned whether Lin Tian’s remaining Protagonist Halo might still have an effect, so he wanted to eliminate all uncertainties.

Unexpectedly, Lin Tian had indeed come.

Yu Miaojin looked at Gu Junqing with a strange expression, thinking how accurately he had predicted everything.

It felt as though nothing could escape his calculations.

Gu Junqing, however, remained unfazed. To him, this was trivial.

Seeing the exchange of glances between Gu Junqing and Yu Miaojin, Lin Tian felt humiliated and almost didn’t want to stay any longer.

He had deep feelings for Yu Miaojin.

After all, during his lowest period before his awakening, she had been the only one who cared about him and showed him kindness.

But all of that had been taken away by Gu Junqing.

This only strengthened his determination to oppose Gu Junqing—even to the point of wanting to destroy him completely.

He wanted to win Yu Miaojin back.

However, he couldn’t reveal his intentions too openly yet.

Lin Tian composed himself, suppressing his slightly frenzied expression.

He had come to ask for a day off tomorrow.

The day before, he had received a call from a boss who had taken care of him for a long time, inviting him to a “good place” tomorrow.

This excited him greatly. He felt his opportunity had arrived.

At the jade gambling venue, he could use his innate talent—the Golden Eyes—to carefully select high-quality stones. With that, his chance to become rich overnight would finally come.

Once he made money, he could purchase the medicinal herbs needed to evolve his Golden Eyes and strengthen his body. Then, defeating Gu Junqing would be effortless.

He would make sure Gu Junqing tasted despair.

For example, he would take all of Gu Junqing’s women, seize all his assets, and crush him completely.

Yu Miaojin thought for a moment before agreeing to his request.

Seeing her approval, Lin Tian breathed a sigh of relief, though in truth it hardly mattered.

If necessary, he would simply skip class. Once he had money, he could go wherever he pleased.

Hearing Lin Tian’s departing footsteps, Yu Miaojin finally couldn’t hold back. She turned to Gu Junqing with a mixture of complaint and unease.

Although she didn’t know what Gu Junqing was planning, she still felt sorry for Lin Tian.

Why did he have to oppose Gu Junqing?

“What are you planning to do?” Yu Miaojin frowned. “Lin Tian is still my student. You…”

“Don’t worry, Teacher Yu. As long as he doesn’t make mistakes himself, I’ll give him a chance.”

Gu Junqing stretched lazily.

“Let’s continue studying The Art of War.”

As military strategy states: occupying the high ground grants overwhelming advantage, breaking through enemy lines like splitting bamboo.

While Gu Junqing and Yu Miaojin continued their “military discussions,” Lin Tian returned to the classroom, still hesitating about whether he should gamble in such places.

After all, it wasn’t exactly a legitimate path.

But the pressure Gu Junqing placed on him was too great—he felt he had no other choice.

Lin Tian finally made up his mind, though he still worried about where to get the initial funds.

“My cultivation is still too shallow,” Gu Junqing muttered to himself later, rubbing his lower back.

When Gu Junqing entered the classroom, the teacher didn’t scold him and even smiled at him.

Teachers naturally favored students with excellent grades—especially the top student in the entire grade, or even all of Luodu.

If this were a protagonist, he would inevitably encounter humiliation and mockery.

This was one advantage of being an antagonist: minor characters rarely dared disrespect him.

Face-slapping plots usually didn’t target villains.

Of course, if anyone truly dared show displeasure toward Gu Junqing, he would probably turn around and erase them without hesitation.

After taking his seat, Murong Wan and Luo Ningyu hurried over to ask about Lin Qingzhu’s arrangements.

They were genuinely concerned about the younger girl.

Gu Junqing briefly explained Lin Qingzhu’s situation, making them so envious they almost wanted to move in as well.

Gu Junqing was naturally pleased—he wished he could gather all the “fish in his pond” together, making it harder for any protagonist to approach them.

Of course, this also had drawbacks.

First, if the fish started fighting, he wouldn’t know whom to side with.

Second, his cultivation technique hadn’t yet reached the necessary level.

Just being teased by Lin Qingzhu’s outfit that morning had nearly overwhelmed him. If they actually lived together…

Moreover, if conflicts broke out among them, he couldn’t openly take sides.

So for now, Gu Junqing had no intention of letting Yu Miaojin, Murong Wan, and Luo Ningyu know about one another’s true status.

After all, if Murong Wan and Luo Ningyu discovered his relationship with Yu Miaojin, who knew what chaos would follow?

Gu Junqing quickly dismissed the thought, worried his young body might not survive such turmoil.

He decided to wait until his Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon reached a higher level—achieving true mastery—before considering such matters.

Murong Wan and Luo Ningyu were somewhat disappointed, but they understood the implications. Two school-belle-level girls working as maids in Gu Junqing’s house would certainly cause rumors at school.

As for Lin Tian, neither Murong Wan nor Luo Ningyu mentioned that his sister was now living with Gu Junqing, and Gu Junqing certainly had no intention of telling him.

Thus, Lin Tian remained completely in the dark.

By now, he had lost almost everything, nearly reduced to an ordinary person—even that subtle connection to heaven and earth had faded.

As a result, sensing impending danger had become extremely difficult for him.

This was precisely the opportunity Gu Junqing had been waiting for.

If not for concerns about the Protagonist Halo—fear of sudden rescue, unexpected opportunities, or backlash—Gu Junqing would have eliminated Lin Tian long ago.

He glanced at Lin Tian once before ignoring him again.

All the traps were nearly set.

Everything was ready except the east wind—just waiting for Lin Tian to walk into the net.

Now, however, the most important threat was still the divine doctor protagonist, Su Chen.

Gu Junqing didn’t know how far Su Chen had been sent off course by the random direction he had pointed out yesterday, nor how much time that had bought him.

With Lin Tian’s threat nearly resolved, Su Chen’s shadow was already looming closer.

Was this the fate of a major villain?

Gu Junqing sighed deeply.

When he thought about his future destiny—beating the male lead, stealing the female lead, beating the male lead again, snatching another female lead, beating the male lead yet again, forcing the female lead—

He suddenly felt a little excited.

No, no. The most important thing right now was defeating the male lead. It had nothing to do with the female leads.

He silently reminded himself of that.
