Within the viscous blood mist, bloodied hands emerged while the radiant elements were partly consumed by the crimson hue, turning it into a feast of blood.

In the midst of the bloody atmosphere, the river of blood behind Kristia undulated and condensed. Gradually, it formed a blood sphere adorned with dark red flames, floating above her right hand.

Kristia smiled faintly. “I was wondering who those old immortals would send… and I wasn’t wrong.”

Sofía Bette, princess of the Bette family, one of the thirteen ruling families of the Night Empire, renowned worldwide as one of the most powerful Demon Lords.

Kristia anticipated Sofía’s arrival. The Bette family, once ruling the Night Empire, was dethroned by her, and Sofía’s father was dispatched by her hand.

“Grateful for the Queen’s attention, endlessly thankful,” Sofía curtsied slightly, holding her dress’s hem. “Demon Lords must not step into the Sky City. I kindly ask Her Majesty to consider the Empire and not to provoke conflict with humans, but to return home to govern the realm.”

“What price did they pay you to come?” Kristia observed the Lost Array, still about an hour away from activation, asking nonchalantly, “To seal or kill me, perhaps? To restore your rule?”

“Your Majesty jests. As your subjects, we would never commit such treason,” Sofía replied with a smile.

“I did it back then.” Kristia remained noncommittal. “Take it out. You must be carrying ‘Chaotic Bloodlust,’ the only thing that might subdue me.”

“Your Majesty, you…” Sofía lowered her head slightly, her crimson eyes eerie and cold. “Wouldn’t it be better if you weren’t so smart?”

A blood-red magic array unfolded between Sofía’s hands, and a red hexagram sparkled with a charming and eerie brilliance. Blood tendrils dripped thick and rich blood droplets as they extended, intertwining to form a blooming blood rose.

Ancient text glimmered on the petals of the blood rose. An intense blood aura emanated from the rose, inexplicably carrying a hint of sweetness.

In the gradually thickening blood fog, mysterious and ancient singing resonated, guiding the pulsation of the blood.

Sofía gazed at Kristia with a smile. “Respected Queen, the ancient’Chaotic Bloodlust.’ Can you feel your blood pulsating?”

“You’re hiding such a treasure?” Kristia expressed slight surprise.

‘Chaotic Bloodlust’ wasn’t a powerful lethal weapon. Born from the River of Blood, the flower had the power to incite blood flow. Hence, in a blood feast, it was often used to adjust the atmosphere and stimulate the desire for blood within vampires.

Under the influence of ‘Chaotic Bloodlust,’ vampires felt abnormally empty, their craving for blood multiplied several times. If there wasn’t enough blood to calm this ‘desire,’ the agitated blood would spread throughout the body, leading to a mutation of the vampire.

A loss of sanity, turning into a ‘ghoul.’

No vampire wished to undergo such a transformation. It was too ugly, too insane, too disgusting—completely contrary to their pursuit of nobility and elegance. Thus, many vampires, facing the prospect of ghoulification, would rather be killed than turn into monsters.

“I’m curious how Your Majesty would look as a monster.”

Sofía smiled calmly. If the Queen turned into a ghoul, there would be a reasonable cause to eliminate her.

The blood rose in her palm exuded a strange fragrance. Even without breathing, the scent still permeated the body.

Sofía wasn’t concerned about herself, having prepared enough blood. But Kristia?

From the intelligence received, she hadn’t prepared enough blood to counter the effects of ‘Chaotic Bloodlust.’

“Your Majesty, I look forward to it,” Sofía spoke again. “Your majestic presence will surely be visible to the whole world.”

No vampire could resist the effect of the ‘Chaotic Bloodlust,’ not even a demon lord, as it was a power born from the River of Blood at the origin point.

“When you become a monster, destroy this island, ruin the Sky City, and no one will know what happened here, the reason for the city’s catastrophe… which is you.”

“Your Majesty, how long can you endure?”

“Other than the ancient ‘Chaotic Bloodlust,’ there are no other unexpected situations.”

Maintaining her smile, Kristia stepped back. Sofía didn’t stop her; she didn’t want to become the first soul lost after Kristia’s transformation.

She was well aware Kristia wouldn’t flee; the Lost Array was right in front of her.

“I hope you can suppress it, but… is it possible?”

Watching Kristia vanish, Sofía smiled. Unless she went to the Sky City for blood, how could she contain the power so easily?

But… after setting up the situation so painstakingly, how could she easily replenish the blood?

“Tell the Tenth Hall Master, tell his people to stay away from her… if they don’t want to die.”

“Thank you, Demon Lord, for your intervention.”

…

Returning to the quiet corridor, Kristia’s pace remained unhurried. Even though affected by ‘Chaotic Bloodlust,’ so what? Su Yuchen was here.

She had long smelled the scent that belonged to him and was sealed off by her. It was that scent that gave her the confidence to enter without worries.

As for what to do if the virgin junior didn’t come… she would wait until the Lost Array was completely activated before taking action.

With each step, a blood-colored halo enveloped her body. The disappeared evening gown was replaced by a black high-necked base shirt and a brown-black striped A-line skirt. The only constant was the black stockings wrapped around her legs.

A light brown coat draped over her. Reaching into the coat pocket, she put on red-framed glasses. Her blood-red eyes turned back to gold, her meticulously arranged long hair naturally falling over her shoulders, perfectly displaying an elegant aura.

“Sister’s here~”

…

“To be scared to death like that…”

Muttering to himself while walking, Su Yuchen recalled Ichino Tsuko’s death scene. “I’m not that scary-looking, am I? Too easily frightened.”

Thump, thump, thump…

The hurried footsteps sounded from the staircase ahead. Su Yuchen’s eyes brightened. He hastened his pace.

Around the corner—

“Yuchen~”

To Su Yuchen’s surprise, Kristia circled her arms around his neck and crashed into his embrace.

Su Yuchen felt her scent was even more alluring than before.

“Teacher?”

Kristia lifted her head, her eyes behind the lenses shimmering with a misty glow. “I’m poisoned.”

“The ‘want you’ poison.”
