Ring, ring, ring, ring—

The alarm on the phone, set for 6:10, abruptly stopped. In the pitch-dark room, Xia Yushuang withdrew her right hand from the phone on the bedside table. On her knees, she slowly straightened up. Within the faintly shimmering ice-blue magical light, her lips glistened with a crystalline sheen, as if coated with honey.

Xia Yushuang licked her lips, savoring the moment, her eyes narrowing slightly as she glanced at Su Yuchen’s sleeping face and his somewhat swollen lips. She had been a bit too forceful again.

“Mmm-hmm~~”

Letting out a satisfied chuckle, Xia Yushuang extended a finger to smooth the slight furrow in his brow. “Why does his complexion look a bit pale?”

She placed her hand on Su Yuchen’s cheek—cold. Even though the window was shut.

“Is he sick? Not quite…”

Moreover… Xia Yushuang’s gaze drifted downward, her brows knitting together—no reaction!

It used to happen before… Why was it a bit unresponsive today?

“Did he take care of himself last night? Or is it not the right time yet?”

After hesitating for a moment, Xia Yushuang lifted a corner of the blanket. A bit nervous, a bit shy, she peeked inside. Before she could even see anything, she caught a whiff of something.

Wrinkling her nose, Xia Yushuang quickly covered him back up, casting a glance at Su Yuchen with a mix of puzzlement and delight. “This never happened before… Was it because I was walking around wrapped in a towel last night, applying body lotion, and he just couldn’t hold back?”

Involuntarily swallowing , Xia Yushuang once again lifted a corner of the blanket and leaned in to sniff a few times.

Honestly, it didn’t smell very good, but because it was Su Yuchen, she found it a bit intoxicating.

“Should I help him clean up?”

Xia Yushuang pondered, feeling conflicted, and stole another glance at Su Yuchen’s still sleeping face. After a long moment, she put the blanket down. “Hmm, I’ll wake him up a bit later today, so he won’t have time to bathe himself. I’ll help him when while he’s out at noon, and wash the sheets too.”

Feeling her plan was perfect, Xia Yushuang tucked Su Yuchen in carefully, then watched him for another ten minutes before getting up and leaving his bedroom. She felt a bit chilly as she stepped out, probably because she was only wearing underwear.

These days, Xia Yushuang was becoming increasingly bold about entering Su Yuchen’s room while he was asleep.

After changing into her school uniform in the guest room, Xia Yushuang walked into the kitchen to start preparing breakfast, humming a tune. Clearly, she was in a good mood, especially since she was getting closer to Su Yuchen.

‘He’s sleeping so soundly today, he probably didn’t notice when I slipped under the covers with him, right?’

Quietly pondering, Xia Yushuang glanced at the bedroom door. What if she tried going in now?

“Forget it, I’m already in my school uniform, and there will be other chances…”

With breakfast ready and the time now at 6:50, Xia Yushuang returned to Su Yuchen’s bedroom. Looking at him tightly wrapped in the blanket, a faint smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. It was easy to get tired when one released too much energy.

But if she didn’t wake him up soon, they’d have to rush to school instead of enjoying a leisurely walk together.

She glanced at his still slightly swollen lips, then picked up the bikini-clad sword-wielding anime figurine from the bedside. After a moment of hesitation, this time she didn’t just let it drop on him but gently placed it on his lips.

Pulling the curtains, it was a cloudy day without sunshine.

“Time to wake up.”

Squatting down, Xia Yushuang smiled as she pinched Su Yuchen’s nose, watching his brows furrow and mouth open as he struggled for breath. She released her grip just in time, then stood up, pretending she had just taken the figurine off him as he opened his eyes.

The snug deep blue school uniform shirt beautifully outlined her figure, but today, Su Yuchen had no interest in appreciating the usual morning scenery. He just felt his eyelids were so heavy and didn’t want to open his eyes at all.

After directly exiting Sylvia’s dream world last night, he intended to contemplate why the little white female cat seemed so familiar. However, the mental fatigue was beyond imagination. His thoughts had suddenly shut down.

As the saying goes, “one drop of essence equals ten drops of blood,” but last night, it wasn’t just physical essence—there was a “mental essence” as well. He had no idea how Sylvia had managed to drain everything from him in the dream, but the tiredness surpassed that of Saturdays and Sundays combined.

He even felt like there was no warmth left in his limbs.

“What time is it?” Su Yuchen rolled over and asked in a slightly hoarse voice.

“Seven three.” Xia Yushuang replied, frowning. Sleeping in like this was completely unlike him.

“Honestly, why do you enjoy torturing your body so much? ‘No idea how many times’ junior?” Xia Yushuang was genuinely annoyed. Even if it was because he couldn’t control herself last night, he shouldn’t overexert himself like this, right?

“I didn’t…”

“Didn’t?” Xia Yushuang sneered. “Then explain this strange smell in the air.”

“Is there?” Now a bit more awake, Su Yuchen sat up and lifted the blanket… Uh, there was indeed a smell.

But it was just an odor, the specifics had long been taken away by the succubus in the dream world.

Instinctively taking a breath, Xia Yushuang quickly turned her head, her cheeks slightly red. “Hurry, go take a shower, it’s so foul.”

Though very tired, being caught was a bit embarrassing. Su Yuchen quickly got out of bed and rushed into the bathroom, shedding his clothes to start bathing.

In the bedroom, Xia Yushuang stared straight at the bed. The scent still lingered in the air. She glanced at the sheets and the lifted blanket several times but found no traces.

“Did it dry?”

Xia Yushuang slowly reached out to touch the sheets, finding no dry spots. Suddenly, she froze—had she just touched it?

Bang!

The bathroom door suddenly burst open, and Xia Yushuang quickly retracted her right hand, turning her head casually. In the next second, her eyes widened, “You…”

“What the hell, why are you still here?!” Su Yuchen hurriedly ducked back into the bathroom, only his head peeking out as he looked at Xia Yushuang speechlessly.

Xia Yushuang’s gaze was unfocused, her mind filled with…

‘Swinging back and forth, back and forth.’

“Aren’t you leaving yet?” Su Yuchen’s voice snapped her back to reality. She didn’t bother with any sarcastic remarks like “Are you trying to commit a crime against me?” this time, blushing and hurriedly ran out.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Su Yuchen quickly went to the wardrobe, grabbed a fresh pair of underwear, and put it on. Feeling slightly more awake, he quickly threw on his school uniform, opened the window to air out the room, and then stepped out of the bathroom.

In the kitchen, Xia Yushuang was already sitting down, eating with her head lowered. Su Yuchen, having been seen fully exposed, didn’t feel particularly awkward—after all, she wasn’t the first to witness this.

They ate breakfast in silence. As Xia Yushuang carried her bowl to the sink, Su Yuchen said, “It’s getting late; we can wash up when we get back tonight.”

“Huh?” Xia Yushuang’s body trembled slightly, clearly still lost in thought. “Oh, yeah, we’ll wash up later… Mm.”

She glanced at her right hand, “Yeah, we’ll wash up later.”

No handwashing today!

…

“Xiyu?”

Entering her sister’s room, Jiang Shengyue looked at Jiang Xiyu still lying in bed, surprised. “Isn’t today Monday, the discipline inspection day? Why haven’t you gotten up?”

“Hm? What’s that smell?”

Jiang Shengyue frowned, looking at Jiang Xiyu wrapped in the blanket. The pervasive scent in the air was somewhat familiar but also carried an unfamiliar quality.

She knew the familiar scent—it was the aroma that filled the air when Jiang Xiyu couldn’t suppress her succubus bloodline. But the unfamiliar part… What was it?

Bending down to look at the side of Jiang Xiyu’s face, Jiang Shengyue suddenly froze. “If you’re awake, why aren’t you getting up… Your horns…”

Jiang Shengyue’s expression changed. She quickly sat on the bed and turned Xiyu to face her. “Why did your horns get smaller?”

“Bloodline awakening.” Jiang Xiyu’s face was slightly flushed, but her voice was as calm as ever. After retracting her succubus features, she looked at Jiang Shengyue and said, “Sister, I need to get dressed now.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Jiang Shengyue asked, a bit worried. “Can you handle a bloodline awakening without absorbing any yang energy?”

“It’s no problem… I’ve stored all the energy you’ve given me before, just for this moment,” Jiang Xiyu lied smoothly. “See? I’m perfectly fine.”

Jiang Shengyue placed her hand on her sister’s forehead, feeling the magic was indeed stable, and relaxed. “That’s good…”

Then she glanced at Jiang Xiyu with a hint of reproach. “You knew you were about to awaken and still didn’t come sleep with me?”

“Sister has been staying up late lately, very tired.”

“Your health is the most important.”

“Mhm.” Jiang Xiyu pulled the blanket up to cover her mouth. “I really need to get dressed now.”

“It’s not like I haven’t seen it before…” Seeing Jiang Xiyu’s expression, Jiang Shengyue realized and chuckled, “Even Jiang Xiyu in this state, right?”

“It’s a bit too much…” Jiang Xiyu averted her gaze.

“Okay, okay.” Jiang Shengyue patted her sister’s forehead, indulgently saying, “My little Xiyu has grown up.”

“Mmm…”

After her sister left the room, Jiang Xiyu finally sat up. She lifted the blanket and took a deep breath. “Yuchen’s… scent.”

Waking up from the dream last night, she put on her underwear to keep herself wrapped in Yuchen’s warmth… Changing? No way that’s happening.

…

“Yawn~”

Su Yuchen glanced out the window, his eyelids drooping, clearly not having gotten enough sleep.

“Hey man, were you out stealing cows last night?” Song Xinghui gave him a look. “We’re in the second period already, and you’re still this sleepy?”

“I got my cow stolen,” Su Yuchen replied with another yawn.

“You’re raising cows?” Song Xinghui joked, “Who stole it?”

“A thief who operates under the cover of night.” Su Yuchen slumped onto the desk. “Not only stole my cow but also milked it dry.”

Song Xinghui was stunned. “You seriously own a cow?”

Su Yuchen glanced at him. Song Xinghui’s ability to catch onto things was still lacking.

“Heh…” Su Yuchen gave a small chuckle, then checked his phone. With ten minutes left before class ended, he forced himself to sit up, determined to take a proper nap in Jiang Shengyue’s presence later.

As soon as the bell rang, Su Yuchen quickly packed up his books and headed out. Watching him walk out of the classroom with unusual unsteady steps, Song Xinghui was full of question marks. “Even if his cow was stolen, it’s not like it was him… Did he chase the thief all night?”

When Su Yuchen arrived at Hidden Heart Lake, he didn’t see Jiang Shengyue’s figure. He walked over to the now-yellowed grassy slope and sat down, facing the increasingly chilly autumn wind… and still feeling tired.

Not bodily tired, as his body’s recovery magic was impressive, but mentally, he hadn’t recovered until now.

Sylvia’s mental strength was the second strongest he had encountered so far. The first was the mysterious girl armed with heavy artillery magic.

“That annoying little succubus, didn’t even give me anything back last night, just cared about having her own fun!”

Muttering complaints about Sylvia, Su Yuchen noticed a fish leaping out of the lake and spitting water at him, as if mocking his “weakness.”

But before the water could reach him, a wave of scorching magic evaporated it, sending the fish splashing back into the lake.

Splat.

Watching the fish drop back into the water, Su Yuchen clicked his tongue and turned to the side where Jiang Shengyue had just sat down. “Should have roasted it for eating.”

“The fish in Hidden Heart Lake are ornamental and not good for eating.” Jiang Shengyue smiled at him. “Hmm? You seem a bit off today. What happened?”

“My cow got stolen,” Su Yuchen yawned.

“Staying up late isn’t good for you.” Jiang Shengyue didn’t press further and glanced at the lake. “Why didn’t you dodge just now?”

“To avoid greater misfortune.” Su Yuchen laid down on the grass. “When I’m alone, I purposely step into minor misfortunes, because if I dodge all the little ones, the big misfortune will hit harder.”

Jiang Shengyue, who was taking out lunch, looked at Su Yuchen with eyes that seemed to have found a new ‘toy.’ “Have you tested this theory?”

“I’ve been struck by lightning,” Su Yuchen coughed lightly, “more than once.”

“Haha~” Jiang Shengyue couldn’t hold back her laughter, though she quickly covered her mouth, realizing it wasn’t very ladylike. Her red eyes curved with amusement. “Your ‘misfortune’ is really something… But if you purposely step into small misfortunes, won’t the world catch on?”

“The world is pretty easy to fool. At least, it hasn’t—”

Boom!

A thunderclap suddenly roared from the already cloudy sky. Su Yuchen immediately changed his words, “The world daddy is still kind to me.”

Jiang Shengyue laughed even more, patting Su Yuchen’s shoulder, “Everything’s fine now, with sister around, the world won’t dare mess with you.”

“Mhm, ha~” Su Yuchen yawned again and checked his phone. The weather forecast predicted rain at 3 PM, so he figured he still had time for a nap here.

“You look exhausted. Try not to stay up late so much,” Jiang Shengyue said, placing the lunch box in his hand. “Don’t think you can just do whatever you want because you’re young, okay?”

“It’s not like I wanted to… Blame the cow thief.” Su Yuchen, feeling quite hungry, quickly started eating.

“Yeah, right~ You just lack self-control,” Jiang Shengyue huffed. “Don’t stay up late watching TV, reading novels, or scrolling through videos. It’s easy to lose track of time.”

Evidently, Jiang Shengyue associated ‘stolen cows’ with ‘playing on the phone’.

“Mhm…” Su Yuchen responded without explaining further. Though what he’d said was the truth.

A succubus stole his ‘cow’ and even milked it.

Su Yuchen, unusually quiet today, quickly finished eating and said, “Sister Yue, I’m going to sleep now, so tired…”

“Alright.” Jiang Shengyue watched as Su Yuchen fell asleep the moment he laid down, feeling a bit helpless. “He must’ve pulled an all-nighter.”

She took out her sports jacket from her storage item and covered him with it. She also set up a fire-based spell to keep him warm.

As she cleaned up the lunch containers, Jiang Shengyue glanced at the sleeping Su Yuchen and murmured to herself, “When we live together in the future, I’ll make sure he develops good habits.”

After storing the lunch box in her storage item, Jiang Shengyue couldn’t help but gaze at Su Yuchen’s sleeping face. She reached out and placed her hand on his forehead, using a mental magic spell to restore his energy. He looked genuinely tired.

“It doesn’t make sense… He’s only eighteen. How can one sleepless night tire him out this much?”

Jiang Shengyue pondered for a moment. “Could it be that all those ‘misfortunes’ kept him from getting a good night’s sleep?”

With that thought in mind, she pulled out an ancient book that only the elven race possessed. “Minor misfortunes, major misfortunes… Such strange characteristics. Why does the world target only him?”

After days of researching, Jiang Shengyue had found records of others who experienced similar ‘misfortunes,’ but their misfortunes, while frequent, weren’t as continuous as Su Yuchen’s.

Moreover, their misfortunes were mostly related to illnesses, not everyday mishaps like tripping or choking on water. And unlike Su Yuchen, they couldn’t ward off their misfortunes by being around certain people.

So, there wasn’t much to reference.

“What a weird constitution,” Lost in thought, Jiang Shengyue sighed. She had flipped through several ancient books but hadn’t found any useful information, let alone a solution.

“Actually… there is one solution. Keep him by my side forever, never let him leave for even a second.”

Closing the book, Jiang Shengyue moved closer to Su Yuchen, shyly touched his cheek with her other hand, and whispered softly, “It’s okay if we can’t find a solution. As long as you marry me, everything will be fine.”

“Junior~” Jiang Shengyue leaned down and whispered in his ear, “Meeting me was your good fortune.”

Seeing Su Yuchen’s complexion brighten under her magic, Jiang Shengyue chuckled lightly, then looked up at the empty road where no one was passing by. She sighed again.

“I really want to introduce you to my little sister. You’ll be so surprised, won’t you?”

“My little sister, your future sister-in-law, is the disciplinary committee president.”

“I found a boyfriend, and since Xiyu is so clingy, she shouldn’t get jealous, right?”
