Upon hearing that Yang Linlin wanted to go out for a stroll, Ling Xiao immediately nodded and said, “Sure, I was actually planning to take you out anyway. I was worried that staying home for too long might make you sick.”

After all, they had to survive in this Apocalypse for 100 days, and only 10 days had passed so far.

There were still 90 days left to go.

Staying cooped up at home all the time would inevitably lead to boredom and problems.

Seeing Ling Xiao’s cheerful agreement, Yang Linlin quickly said, “Then wait for me a moment.”

With that, she hurried into her room.

Ling Xiao initially thought she was going to grab a bag or something.

To his surprise, Yang Linlin came out with a bottle of sunscreen, applying it while saying, “The sun is still pretty harsh now—it’s easy to get sunburned.”

She squeezed a bit of sunscreen and asked Ling Xiao, “Do you want to put some on too?”

Ling Xiao chuckled, “No need. As a guy, it’s fine if I get a little darker.”

Hearing this, Yang Linlin was about to nod but eventually said, “How about… you still put some on?”

Seeing her insistence, Ling Xiao smiled and held out his hand.

Yang Linlin was delighted and immediately squeezed some sunscreen into his palm.

Watching this scene, Ling Xiao thought to himself that in the real world, this would resemble a girlfriend caring for her boyfriend.

If he had to endure these 100 days of the Apocalypse alone, he probably wouldn’t make it.

Fortunately, there was an NPC keeping him company.

“Yes, just spread the sunscreen evenly on your face. That’s right,” Yang Linlin instructed, ensuring Ling Xiao’s sun protection was thorough.

Once they were ready, the two stepped out of the house.

Stepping outside, Yang Linlin felt a bit unaccustomed to it at first.

She hadn’t been out for almost a week.

The streets were still lined with abandoned vehicles, and not a sound could be heard.

Silence—a terrifying silence.

Yang Linlin looked up at Ling Xiao and asked, “Are we walking?”

“No, we’ll ride.”

With that, Ling Xiao wheeled out a motorcycle from the side.

Yang Linlin watched his skilled riding posture in surprise and remarked, “You can ride a motorcycle too.””

“It’s simple. If you can ride a bike, you can ride an electric scooter, and if you can ride an electric scooter, you can naturally ride a motorcycle,” Ling Xiao explained.

Hearing this, Yang Linlin replied sheepishly, “I… I don’t know how to ride a bike.”

“Huh?” Ling Xiao was taken aback. “You don’t?”

Seeing his surprised expression, Yang Linlin’s face turned even redder.

Ling Xiao also realized his tone had been too astonished.

After all, in his understanding, most adults knew how to ride a bike.

Embarrassed, Yang Linlin explained, “When I was little, I fell while learning to ride a bike and broke it… Then my dad spanked me, and I never tried learning again after that.”

Ling Xiao noticed a shift in Yang Linlin’s mood.

So, he changed the subject, saying, “It’s okay. I’ll teach you when we have time later.”

“Really? But I’m pretty clumsy—I might not be able to learn,” Yang Linlin said somewhat dejectedly.

“Don’t worry. Just a few days of practice, and I guarantee you’ll become a pro. Come on, hop on.”

Seeing that Ling Xiao was inviting her onto the motorcycle, Yang Linlin swung her leg over and sat upright.

Ling Xiao then reminded her, “The road might be a bit bumpy later. You can hold onto my clothes so you don’t fall off.”

“Okay.” Seeing this, Yang Linlin grabbed the hem of Ling Xiao’s clothes with both hands.

“Vroom, vroom, vroom~~”

Soon, the sound of the motorcycle echoed through the city.

Along the way, Yang Linlin gazed at the surrounding scenery.

When she saw the familiar barbecue restaurant, she felt a pang of nostalgia. Just a few days ago, she had eaten there with Chen Ting, but now it stood empty.

The entire city seemed to have been put on pause, with only the two of them moving about.

While driving, Ling Xiao explained to her, “Actually, our supermarket still has plenty of food—enough to last six months to a year, no problem. But eating the same things every day gets boring, so let’s check other stores to see if we can find some cooking utensils.”

Yang Linlin listened to Ling Xiao’s analysis and simply nodded.

She had previously visited the supermarket’s freezer section. It was indeed stocked with ingredients, enough to make her admire Ling Xiao’s efficiency.

However, the food would only last about a year. Even if they rationed it carefully, it would be completely consumed in a year or two at most. What would they do then?

The thought made Yang Linlin a little worried.

Before long, the motorcycle came to a stop in front of a food court.

Ling Xiao got off and explained, “There should be plenty of utensils here—things for making steamed buns, pancakes, and so on. Let’s take a look.”

“Okay.”

The two of them walked into the food court.

Inside, the situation was no different from outside. A layer of dust had even settled on the tables.

Ling Xiao looked around, then picked up a packaging bag and began filling it with useful tools one by one.

Yang Linlin followed behind, responsible for carrying smaller items.

After spending so many days together, she had unintentionally become Ling Xiao’s assistant.

“Here, take this. It’s lighter,” Ling Xiao said, handing her a metal mold. “With this, we can make pancakes.”

Yang Linlin took the metal mold, examined it, and then placed it in her bag.

Soon, the two of them walked out of the food court carrying the bag.

Just as they reached the motorcycle, Ling Xiao suddenly remembered something.

He said to Yang Linlin, “Wait here for a moment. I think I saw a new pancake griddle earlier. I’ll go get it. Stay here and wait.”

“Okay.”

Yang Linlin stood in place, obediently waiting.

Ling Xiao returned to the food court and searched the shop.

While he was looking, Yang Linlin turned her gaze to the motorcycle beside her.

“Is riding a motorcycle really that easy?”

She recalled Ling Xiao’s earlier driving maneuvers.

Driven by curiosity, she climbed onto the motorcycle.

“Start the engine, hold the clutch, twist the throttle, then release the clutch…”

Following Ling Xiao’s simple instructions, Yang Linlin mimicked his actions step by step.

Meanwhile, Ling Xiao, having found the pancake griddle, was on his way back.

Suddenly, he heard the roar of the motorcycle’s exhaust, followed by a loud “thud.”

Ling Xiao immediately broke into a run.

When he rushed out of the food court, he found Yang Linlin on the ground, the motorcycle tipped over, its wheels still spinning.

Ling Xiao hurried to Yang Linlin’s side and asked, “What happened? Are you hurt?”

Yang Linlin sat up and shook her head. “I’m fine, but I tipped over the motorcycle.”

Ling Xiao then said, “What’s a motorcycle? The whole city is ours. Stand up and let me see if you’re bleeding.”

After checking her over, Ling Xiao confirmed that Yang Linlin hadn’t been injured in the fall and finally felt relieved.

Then he asked curiously, “Did you twist the throttle?”

“Uh-huh.”

Yang Linlin replied somewhat awkwardly, “I… I just wanted to try how to start the motorcycle, but as soon as I twisted the throttle, it shot forward.”

“Luckily you didn’t get hurt this time. Otherwise, such a heavy motorcycle would probably have crushed your leg and broken it,” Ling Xiao remarked with a hint of teasing.

Yang Linlin felt a bit embarrassed and blushed as she smiled. “Sorry.”

“Alright, let’s go.” After straightening the motorcycle, Ling Xiao turned to look at Yang Linlin and said, “We still have important things to do when we get back.”

“Huh?” Yang Linlin was somewhat confused.

Ling Xiao explained, “Teach you how to ride a bicycle.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Linlin was stunned for a moment, then felt a surge of happiness inside.

“Hurry up and get on.”

“Okay, coming right away.”
