- Stranded on a Deserted Island—They All Started Plotting Against Me
- Chapter 11 - Chapter 11
Zhang Liu didn’t answer immediately. He glanced at the two girls in front of him, understanding the subtle tension between them.
Anyone who had managed to take care of two younger sisters after their parents had passed away from illness wouldn’t be foolish. And anyone who could find the best path to learning and succeed couldn’t be considered stupid either.
Given these qualities, Zhang Liu had long learned the ways of the world and was adept at reading situations. So, he could easily tell that the two girls were currently at an impasse.
Qin Ruoshuang’s attitude was clear: she was supporting him in front of Anya, essentially making it clear who had the final say in this matter.
However, Zhang Liu didn’t dare to speak too hastily or outright deny it.
His goal was to escape the island as soon as possible and take care of his two younger sisters. So, responding could mean offending Anya, while not responding could alienate Qin Ruoshuang.
He understood the power dynamics behind them, and he knew that even offending one of them could make his future difficult.
But he also knew that he couldn’t avoid answering, as silence would offend both of them.
After a brief hesitation, which lasted no more than three seconds, Zhang Liu made his decision.
“Well, actually, the cave is pretty spacious,” he said, smiling at the somewhat relaxed-looking Anya. “Anya, I know you’re very particular about your sleep quality, but for now, we’ll have to make do.”
“Mm.” Anya nodded in agreement without saying more, understanding that Zhang Liu was giving her a way out.
Qin Ruoshuang glanced at the sweat that had just started to bead on Zhang Liu’s forehead. After a moment of thought, she realized that her earlier comment, made in frustration, had likely caused him a great deal of trouble.
“Zhang Liu…” she called softly, trying to suppress the guilt rising within her. “Do you have any plans now?”
“I’m thinking of going to the plane wreckage to see if I can find anything useful,” Zhang Liu replied, looking at Anya, who was absentmindedly fiddling with the gravel on the ground. “Anya, could you point the way?”
“Okay!” For Anya, who felt very awkward, Zhang Liu’s suggestion was like the perfect solution. She quickly nodded and agreed.
Just as she was about to turn and head down the nearby steps, Anya suddenly remembered Qin Ruoshuang’s current condition.
She turned back to Zhang Liu and said, “You go ahead and wait for me at the coconut grove. I’ll be right there.”
“Huh?” Zhang Liu paused for a moment, but seeing the seriousness in Anya’s eyes, he nodded and slowly climbed down from the cave.
Inside the cave, which was about 20 square meters, only the two girls were left.
As soon as Anya’s gaze landed on her, Qin Ruoshuang tensed up.
She didn’t know what Anya had in mind.
After a few seconds of hesitation, Anya finally spoke.
“Qin Ruoshuang, let me give you my pants, and you can give me your skirt?”
“Ah?” Qin Ruoshuang was a bit speechless. She didn’t understand why she kept being asked to swap clothes between a guy and a girl.
“Anyway, mine are red, and it’s dangerous not to wear underwear in a situation like this,” Anya pointed to the crimson stain on Qin Ruoshuang’s thigh and added, “We’re both girls, so I’ll just say it outright.”
Seeing the bloodstains on her thigh, Qin Ruoshuang didn’t insist anymore, “Fine.”
She nodded gently and stood up to untie her skirt.
Anya, meanwhile, took off her red sports pants, revealing her toned, shapely figure.
“Do you wear black ones?” Qin Ruoshuang couldn’t help but comment when she saw Anya’s plain black triangle underwear.
She had always assumed Anya would wear something with a cute pattern, like a bunny.
“That’s just personal preference, okay?” Anya replied, her face turning red. “It’s not a big deal.”
The two girls quickly swapped outfits.
Qin Ruoshuang now wore a school uniform top with long red sports pants, while Anya wore a sports top with a wrinkled skirt.
Though the combination was a bit mismatched, it was the most practical solution they had at the moment.
“Here, I’m returning the black and white ones,” Anya said, pulling white underwear and black stockings from the pockets of the skirt she had taken off and handing them to Qin Ruoshuang. “I’ll go find Zhang Liu now.”
“Mm…” Qin Ruoshuang took the underwear and stockings, her mouth opening as if to say something but closing it again.
She wanted to ask Anya what the plan was for dealing with Zhang Liu on the island, but thinking of how Zhang Liu was waiting for her, she decided it wasn’t the right moment to bring it up.
So, she just swallowed her thoughts and watched as Anya left.
As the last sound of footsteps faded away, Qin Ruoshuang suddenly felt a wave of worry, and she slapped her cheeks to calm herself down.
Her period had only left her feeling a bit weak, but she could still manage tasks within her abilities.
For example, she could clean the cave a bit and gather some coconuts for food reserves, or bring over the foam boards to use as cushions.
Carefully crouching beside the cave, the first thing Qin Ruoshuang needed to do was find a suitable tool to clean the ground.
…
“Is it really that far to the wreckage?”
Originally, Zhang Liu planned to head straight to the plane wreckage, but when Anya mentioned that it was at least a day’s journey away, he hesitated.
Without proper logistics or accurate navigation, leaving for such a long time could lead to many uncontrollable consequences.
“Yes,” Anya replied, nodding seriously to Zhang Liu’s question.
“When did you throw away the water bottles?” Zhang Liu thought for a moment and decided to settle for something less, finding a plastic water bottle would still be a decent find.
“I threw one away last night before sleeping, and the other one was thrown away this morning,” Anya said. “If we walk over, it should be pretty close.”
“Then do you remember where you threw them?” Hearing this response, Zhang Liu couldn’t help but feel a bit relieved.
“Probably over this way?” Anya looked down, identifying the footprints left in the coconut grove, and then she took the lead.
As Zhang Liu observed the surrounding environment, he was also calculating what supplies he could bring back with him later.
Soon, his gaze froze on a particularly straight piece of wood lying amidst the debris.
How to say this, this piece of wood precisely meets all of a guy’s aesthetic preferences.
About half a person tall, with a spherical knot at the top, and a broken branch sticking out of it.
It was the perfect dream stick!
Even in such a dangerous situation, Zhang Liu couldn’t help but feel attracted to the stick.
“Wow, this branch is awesome!”
Just as Zhang Liu was considering whether he should rush over to grab it, Anya beat him to it. She picked up the branch and began to swing it in her hand.
“The balance is just right, and the feedback feels flexible and powerful…” Anya swung it a few times, and her mouth kept giving professional reviews.
Zhang Liu could only feel a pang of jealousy in his heart.
He also wanted that stick…
