- Stranded on a Deserted Island—They All Started Plotting Against Me
- Chapter 12 - Chapter 12
“I declare this to be my new favorite sword!”
After a few moments of playing with the stick, Anya put it over her shoulder and turned to Zhang Liu, who was still staring at the branch with wide eyes. “Let’s go!”
“Okay!” Zhang Liu nodded reluctantly and followed Anya, but his gaze remained fixed on the stick.
The sun was fierce in the sky.
At this time yesterday, Zhang Liu was also outside, but he had only searched for supplies in shaded areas along the coast, so he hadn’t felt the heat as much.
At this moment, in order not to take the wrong path, Anya completely went around the beach.
So the two were fully exposed on the sun-drenched beach, sweating all over. Anya, in her skirt, seemed a little more comfortable.
Zhang Liu, dressed in a black top and pants, was already feeling the intense heat.
“Shall we go over there?” Zhang Liu suggested to Anya, sticking his tongue out to lick his dry lips, and pointing to a direction.
The “over there” he was referring to was the outskirts of the forest, at least a few dozen meters away from the two of them.
Looking ahead, all they could see was a limited area. What follows is pitch black, and it’s filled with insecurity no matter how you look at it.
However, the lush green mountain that emerged from the back of the forest was also an important high point that Zhang Liu planned to climb to check the situation.
But that would have to wait until at least half a month later, when rescue hadn’t arrived.
“Sure!” Anya, who had lost the excitement of picking up the branch, was now covered in sweat from the sun and even thought about throwing the stick away.
But she still couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Hearing Zhang Liu’s suggestion, she agreed and walked toward the edge of the forest.
Though the intense sun still shone down from the south, the air in the forest seemed to offer some relief.
Anya had a pretty good memory and quickly took Zhang Liu to find the first plastic bottle discarded on the beach.
The red cap was brightly colored, and the slender bottle shimmered in the sunlight, looking almost as valuable as one of those treasure chests glowing in RPG games.
“Ha ha ha!” Zhang Liu quickly ran over, picked up the bottle, and turned to Anya, “Looks like we didn’t go the wrong way!”
“Yeah, there should be another one not far ahead.” Anya responded softly, then stood still.
To be honest, seeing Zhang Liu treating the bottle she had drunk from as a treasure, she suddenly felt a sense of shame in her heart.
Especially when she saw him unscrewing the cap and smelling the inside of the bottle.
The feeling of shyness made Anya wish she could dig a hole in the sand.
I don’t have bad breath, so why does it matter!
After hesitating for a few seconds, Anya still asked, “Does it smell?”
“It doesn’t,” Zhang Liu, unaware of what Anya was thinking, stuffed the bottle into his pocket and then turned to her, confused. “Why is your face so red?”
“Why? It’s not red!” Anya quickly denied it, subconsciously touching her cheek.
It did feel a little hot.
“It’s the sun that’s burning me!” She hurriedly explained, and walked forward while speaking. “There’s another bottle up ahead. Let’s grab it quickly and go back. Qin Ruoshuang shouldn’t be alone. It’s not safe.”
“Okay,” Zhang Liu nodded and continued to follow Anya.
However, as they walked, Anya’s steps slowly came to a stop.
It wasn’t because she was tired.
It was because she needed to address a physiological issue.
Since arriving here, Anya hadn’t encountered this situation.
At this moment, probably because she had something in her stomach, combined with some walking, the feeling was starting to gradually surface.
However…
She glanced at Zhang Liu and, as a girl, her sense of propriety made it impossible for her to speak out.
But her body’s reaction made it difficult to move freely.
Her brisk walk slowed down to small, shuffling steps. Zhang Liu noticed her change in pace and quickly stepped forward to ask, “Anya, what’s wrong?”
“I…” Anya’s eyes flickered, her tone anxious, and she was frustrated but unable to speak another word. She just stood there, stammering “I, I, I…” repeatedly.
The little feet in sneakers kept rubbing back and forth on the ground, as if they were in extreme torture.
Watching this, Zhang Liu suddenly understood something.
Earlier, Qin Ruoshuang had shown a similar hesitation at night.
But back then, she simply called out repeatedly, asking Zhang Liu if he was asleep.
When Zhang Liu feigned sleep and didn’t respond, Qin Ruoshuang had secretly gotten up and gone to a small stone nearby to deal with the situation.
Under the moonlight, the white patch of skin was still very noticeable.
Zhang Liu wasn’t peeking, just keeping an eye out for her safety.
“Well… it’s getting late, how about we call it a day? But before we leave, Anya, could you go into the forest and see if you can find any edible fruits or something? I’ll go to the beach and check for any resources we can use.” Zhang Liu scratched his head and spoke to the struggling Anya.
“Okay!” Anya nodded vigorously. She didn’t know Zhang Liu’s thoughts, but the suggestion was exactly what she needed.
So she quickly headed into the forest.
Seeing Anya moving briskly, Zhang Liu turned and walked toward the beach, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
It was already the afternoon, and the coastline was incredibly hot under the blazing sun.
Unless a fish suddenly decided to evolve from an ocean creature to an amphibian and approach the shore, there wouldn’t be any useful resources on the beach.
Moreover, Zhang Liu wasn’t really there to search for anything—he was just giving Anya time to address her needs.
He didn’t know if it was big or small…
If it was big, would Anya use a stone…?
As he paced back and forth, Zhang Liu thought about Anya’s potential cleaning methods and the supplies he would bring back with him.
At that moment, a sharp, painful scream suddenly came from the forest.
Zhang Liu, who had been quietly smiling, immediately became tense and hurried toward the sound.
The person screaming wasn’t anyone else—it was Anya, who had just entered the forest.
“Zhang Liu! I’ve been bitten by a snake!” Anya came running out of the forest, gripping a wriggling black snake tightly.
The other end of the snake was hidden beneath her skirt.
Anya’s face was as pale as death, and when she saw Zhang Liu, her legs gave way and she collapsed onto the ground.
Her lips trembled, her body shook violently. If it weren’t for a nearby tree providing support, Anya might have fallen straight to the ground.
