“What happened?”
“What’s going on?”
“Speak, Anya!”

Zhang Liu was shocked and asked repeatedly.

But Anya didn’t respond. She just sat there, gasping for breath, her eyes full of fear, her legs stiff but trembling.

Seeing her like this, Zhang Liu couldn’t wait any longer. He quickly reached out and lifted her skirt.

On Anya’s smooth, pale thighs, there was a long gash bleeding profusely.

The blood slowly flowed down her white skin, tracing long red lines before soaking into the ground.

The snake’s head was still wrapped around the wound, and just a few centimeters higher was Anya’s private area.

There were crystal drops of water hanging on the outside of the smooth hair, and it was obvious that an accident had occurred during the process.

Zhang Liu observed the snake carefully and let out a small sigh of relief. The snake had an oval-shaped head and its tail gradually tapered, typical of a non-venomous species.

He quickly grabbed the snake’s head and yanked it off Anya, then pulled on both ends of the snake’s body.

With a series of cracking sounds, Zhang Liu didn’t stop. Instead, he kept swinging the snake by its tail, smashing its head against a nearby tree.

The entire process lasted less than five seconds. Anya, still stunned, watched as the snake in Zhang Liu’s hand went from flying up and down in the air to twitching in its death throes with only its nerve reactions left.

The snake’s head had been completely crushed.

There was no risk of further retaliation from it.

“It’s okay. The bite is long and bleeding, the body color is dark, the head is round, and the tail is pointed. Plus, it’s on land, so the chances of it being venomous are very small.”

After tossing the snake away, Zhang Liu walked over to Anya, who was still trembling, and took off his belt to tie it tightly above the wound while comforting her.

“Really?” Her breathing began to slow down, and after hearing Zhang Liu’s reassurance and seeing his quick, skilled actions, the fear in Anya’s heart started to subside, though her voice was still trembling.

“Yeah, really.” Zhang Liu nodded and pressed on Anya’s thigh wound, applying pressure.

At first, the blood flow was light, but then it suddenly increased, gushing out.

“Ah!” Anya screamed in pain.

After calming down, she was overwhelmed by the panic of being touched directly on the inner thigh by a boy and the pain caused by pressure on her wound.

Instinctively, she tried to kick away Zhang Liu.

“Don’t move!” Zhang Liu was solidly kicked in the stomach by Anya.

Despite the pain, he didn’t step back. Instead, he bent his body to clamp her leg with his stomach and said, “Non-venomous snakes aren’t completely harmless. Since they live in the wild, their fangs might carry harmful bacteria. You need to treat the wound immediately!”

“It hurts! Stop pressing! I’ll do it myself!” Anya pulled her leg back with force, but her shoe was left on Zhang Liu’s thigh. Her small foot, in white socks, kicked his face again. “Don’t touch me!”

“Well… fine.” Feeling the resoluteness from her foot against his face, Zhang Liu let go of her thigh and stepped aside, watching her actions intently.

Anya glanced at Zhang Liu’s expression cautiously, and upon confirming he wasn’t angry, she quickly lowered her head to press her thigh wound with her hand.

Even after more than ten seconds, she hadn’t mustered the strength to press hard.

That area was one of the softest parts of the human body. Even slight pressure normally caused significant pain.

Although Anya had endured hardships during her kendo training, when it came to this kind of self-inflicted pain, she could only press lightly and hesitated to use more force.

This barely allowed tiny beads of blood to seep out, which was far from the cleansing effect needed.

“Anya?” Zhang Liu, standing nearby, could see her reluctance and couldn’t help but urge, “You need to hurry; the best time to treat a wound is limited.”

According to the books, the critical time to treat a snakebite was within five to fifteen minutes.

Though the snake that bit Anya likely wasn’t venomous, considering the risk of infection, it was better to drain the contaminated blood sooner rather than later.

Watching her hesitation and her inability to press harder, Zhang Liu added anxiously, “If you don’t treat it in time, the wound might get infected and rot. If that happens, you’ll need an amputation. And out here in the wilderness, there’s no way to perform such a procedure!”

“I…!” Anya trembled at Zhang Liu’s semi-threatening words.

But the sharp pain when she pressed harder made it impossible for her to carry on.

“Why don’t you grit your teeth and let me help?” Zhang Liu, seeing her tormented expression, couldn’t hold back any longer and stepped forward.

Seeing Zhang Liu approach, Anya shrank back as if seeing a demon and cried out in alarm.

In response, Zhang Liu stopped in his tracks, standing there anxiously.

“C-Can you suck out the blood for me?” After a moment’s hesitation, Anya looked up at Zhang Liu and said, “Like they do on TV, with your mouth.”

“Huh?” Zhang Liu looked at the black triangle hanging from her left ankle, then at her defenseless body. He asked hesitantly, “With my mouth?”

“Yes. At least… it won’t hurt as much.” Anya averted her eyes to a nearby tree, seemingly counting its leaves. She added, “I didn’t mean to kick you earlier. My body’s just too sensitive to endure the pain.”

“But…” This time, it was Zhang Liu’s turn to hesitate.

Anya’s injury wasn’t in an ordinary place—it was about five centimeters below a rather private area on her thigh.

To be honest, he’d already gotten quite an eyeful.

If he were to use his mouth now, there would be no coming back from that…

“I don’t want to end up disabled. You’ve already seen everything anyway…” Anya’s tone grew calmer. “But you must promise never to tell anyone else about this.”

Seeing Zhang Liu still hesitating, Anya, worried about becoming an amputee, urged him, “I’m a girl and I’m already like this, can’t you be more manly?”

“Fine!” Anya’s last remark shattered Zhang Liu’s hesitation. He nodded firmly.

Stepping forward, he grabbed Anya’s fair, slender leg and bent down without hesitation.

Watching Zhang Liu’s actions, Anya closed her eyes, her emotions a complicated mess.

Especially the warmth of Zhang Liu’s hands, which brought a soothing contrast to her cold, fear-stricken leg.

Next, was he going to use his mouth to…

Once her eyes were closed, Anya’s already heightened senses became even sharper.

Soon, she felt a soft sensation moving slowly from her ankle upward, stopping at a specific spot.

Then, a gentle, steady pressure lingered there.

This sensation didn’t feel like something a human body could create!

Opening her eyes in confusion, Anya saw Zhang Liu, shirtless, bending down with his mouth over her wound.
